Learn more about Google in the Houston Business Review

Alright, the article is actually one that I originally wrote for Free Web Money with the cheery title of How does Google figure out which pages are more relevant? Pagerank., but I’m pleased that the Houston Business Review picked it up for their May 2004 newsletter.

Among other things, it’s a good example of the value of keeping that Internet philosophy of openness: the editor of the Review and I have been going back and forth about them reusing some of my material and, as you can see, we’ve come to a satisfactory agreement.

The same issue has some other useful articles, most notably four simple and useful selling tips for people who are in sales:

  1. Always ask for referrals.
  2. Join a Toastmasters club
  3. Join a networking club
  4. Develop a system to keep in touch with current clients

Other articles include: TRUMP AND THE APPRENTICE CRAZE, WHO SAYS YOU CANT AFFORD A BILLBOARD?, THREE WAYS TO JUMP-START THE CREATIVE PROCESS, A COMPLETE ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN, COST EFFECTIVE IT: WEB-BASED TRAINING, and AFFORDABLE HEALTH INSURANCE?

So, if you’re a Texan, or even just interested in the Houston business climate, please check out The Houston Business Review and, of course, don’t forget to also visit Free Web Money to learn all about Google, search engine optimization, affiliate marketing programs, and much more.
